This bowl has been waiting a year to be fired and boy am I glad I waited!  I sprayed it with two colors and the kiln overfired making the first color greenish. It shines metallic and reflects clearly as you can see in the up front picture where it is reflecting the tablecloth.

These two casserole dishes came out great but the smaller dish looks nicer and is better because the top fits perfectly and is light, the other one… not so much.

Here’s a vase that I spray-glazed. It came out pretty nice as well.  It’s a bit heavy on the bottom and was made for more practical use and can hold plenty of large flowers.

Here’s the smaller of the two large bowls.  It is glazed completely it just thinned in one spot but it’s still useable and glazed properly.

The kiln overfired but the pieces came out nice, especially the other bowl.

New Posts!

I hope people are still interested in checking out my blog.  I haven’t posted in a while and I may only post once or twice in the next three weeks. I’m currently working as an intern for AMCS Corp where I am making models to help design the steel structures being used to hold the cryogenic plants.

These pieces (that I will be posting in the next few minutes) came out beautifully, especially the bowl that has been waiting a year to be fired.

So today was my very last day working at the pottery camp.  It was odd because I didn’t think about it much.  I think that’s because the last day of camp last year I believed would be my last time, since I didn’t plan to return to working at the Platypus Pottery Camp this summer.

Well I now have my internship.  I took a few photos today just to show you all that though I’ve always had a bit of a loony side, my time at Platypus Pottery has helped bring out.

Don was telling the kids yesterday about how he always tells me that I should make some money by using my nose as a parking garage in New York.  So today one of the kids came in with a sign.  Here it is!

Well I really did a nice job with these mugs.  I took these photos a few days ago just after throwing them.  They now all have beautiful handles and are drying out so they can be fired soon.  I made a few more after this picture.  I think this is the best set of mugs I’ve made yet!
